Minimum requirement for an Alberta High School Diploma is French Language Arts 30-1 or French Language Arts 30-2. (French Immersion Program)
| French Language Arts 10-1, 20-1, 30-1 (5 credits each) This three-year program focuses on developing four key communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students enhance their meta-cognitive and analytical abilities through engaging with a variety of materials, including short stories, articles, poetry, films, novels, and plays. French grammar is studied and revised at every level, ensuring a solid foundation. Additionally, technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the curriculum. French Language Arts 10-2, 20-2, 30-2 (5 credits each) This three-year program runs concurrently with the 10-1, 20-1, and 30-1 streams, focusing on the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will analyze a variety of materials, including short stories, articles, poetry, films, novels, and plays. They will enhance their communication abilities through functional writing - through both speaking and writing exercises. French grammar is studied and revised at every level, ensuring a comprehensive understanding. Additionally, technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the curriculum. French Advanced Placement (AP) Interested students are encouraged to discuss the possibility of taking the French Advanced Placement exam with their teacher. |
